The Association of Wisconsin School Administrators and the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators remain committed to providing opportunities for professional learning, networking, and leadership throughout the year. Learning opportunities arresponsive to feedback and facilitate learning based on evidence of best practice as well as new information and important research that impacts the field of education.  Therefore, WASDA and AWSA designed two opportunities for school and district leaders, curriculum and instructional specialists, and teacher leaders to take learning to new heights in their systems. These two learning opportunities complement one another but are also valuable as stand-alone conferences.
The Wisconsin Summit for Data-Informed Leadership held in Green Bay March 1-2, 2016 kicked off the focus for understanding data and embedding effective data practices within a cycle of inquiry. The summit allowed participants to focus on data and assessment practices, offered practical strategies for strengthening data review processes and collaboration opportunities, and provided time for action planning.  Bruce Wellman, co-author of Data Driven Dialogue: A Facilitators Guide to Collaborative Inquiry challenged participants to think about the learning-focused conversations happening their schools and district and the impact it was having on teaching and learning.
Continuing the conversation of data leadership and effective instructional practice, the Quality Educators Convention, scheduled for June 22-24, 2016 at the Monona Terrace in Madison will further support teams of teachers, principals and central office leaders. Effectively acting on data requires strong professional learning communities armed with a repertoire of strategies and approaches in order to effectively engage every learner. The QE Convention will focus on practical strategies for improving collaborative processes and high-leverage instruction while also providing opportunities  for related action planning. Doug Reeves, author of more than thirty books and 80 articles on leadership and student achievement will facilitate an interactive keynote that will be focused on High Impact Leadership: How Leaders Improve Achievement, Enhance Creativity, andRedefine Accountability for 21st Century Schools. QE participants will also benefit from ongoing support froDoug Reeves as we coordinate opportunities for him to continue to serve schools and districts throughouthe 2016-17 school year. Laura Lipton, Bruce Wellmans co-author of Data Driven Dialogue: A FacilitatorGuide to Collaborative Inquiry, the Endnote of the convention, will engage participants in thinking aboulearning-focused classrooms and the data-informed decisions teachers, schools and a district make about their instructional practice.
