Helping School Board Members Comply with the Law

Legislative Update

In this session, SAA Director of Government Relations John Forester will recap the recently-concluded 2015-16 legislative session and preview the 2016 elections in Wisconsin. He will also discuss the initial impact of the SAA's evidence-based policy agenda and local advocacy efforts. Finally, John willleave time to answer member questions.

10 Elections Changes and 10 Timely Policy Topics

This fast-paced session will cover 10 important issues related to the state’s new campaign finance laws for school board candidates and elections (a.k.a. “Act 117”) and 10 board policy topics that school districts should be giving some attention to this spring, including policies that address school board vacancies and high school graduation requirements.
